About Us

At Reinbow Acres, we believe every horse deserves food, freedom, and friends — especially during life’s most uncertain transitions.

We are a safe space dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, gentling, and responsible rehoming of at-risk equines. Whether a horse comes to us neglected, abandoned, misunderstood, or simply in need of a second chance, they are welcomed with space to breathe, room to heal, and the dignity they deserve.

Reinbow Acres is built on the belief that recovery thrives in open space, and every horse deserves a chance at life, especially the unhandled.

Horses in Crisis

Across America, horses of all ages, breeds, training, shapes, sizes, and health are trapped in a vicious cycle from auctions, to kill buyers, and ultimately tens of thousands of horses will ship to be slaughtered for human consumption, in Mexico or Canada. This includes BLM mustangs, wild animals that have slipped through the cracks of federal protections.

Our Mission

We will provide safe space and sanctuary for horses to heal, after facing the stressful slaughter lots and escaping near death. We will stop as many as we can from shipping through advocacy, legislation, fundraising, and taking on as many as we physically and financially are able.

Gentling

Many of our rescue horses arrive unhandled; in fact, the lack of spaces to accomodate and train unhandled horses are what inspired us to begin! We understand that it takes time and consistency to work with these horses. Often, they are labeled dangerous.

With primarily liberty training on pastures where they have everything they need, the bond built is truly special. We find that a lot of the dangerous behaviors do not appear when horses have the freedom to leave. When they receive a gentle correction without entrapment, they are able to think and come back, without escalation.

While Mustangs will always have our hearts, we do not descriminate. We will help any horse we are able, regardless of size, breed, temperament, color, age, or ability. We have a lot of amazing horses, and every horse has a perfect home awaiting.
